Welcome to Vanderbilt Villa on the stunning island of Great Exuma! We’re thrilled to have you as our guest and hope you have a memorable stay in our home. We’ve gone the extra mile to ensure that everything is perfect for your arrival. Should you need any assistance or have any questions during your stay, our dedicated team is here to help. 

You have already been introduced to Summer, who assisted you during the booking process. If you have any inquiries or concerns before your arrival, don’t hesitate to reach out to her. She’ll ensure that your questions are promptly addressed, allowing you to focus on anticipating your island getaway. Once you set foot on the island, you’ll have the pleasure of meeting Ayana, our local concierge. Ayana is exceptional at managing the property and attending to our guests’ needs. Whether it’s arranging island excursions, recommending local dining spots, or addressing any concerns you may have during your stay, Ayana is there to ensure that your experience is nothing short of amazing. 

While you unwind in the tranquility of Vanderbilt Villa, we kindly ask that you keep in mind that island living offers its own unique charm and pace. Some amenities or services may not be as readily available as you’re accustomed to, but we’re confident that the natural beauty and hospitality of Great Exuma will more than make up for it. Check in is at 4:00 p.m. We have a self check-in process. The front door will be unlocked and a key will be provided on the table next to the door. Ayana will meet you at Vanderbilt Villa either at arrival or shortly after to walk you and your guests through the property.

Check out is at 10:00 a.m. No check-out process required. Upon leaving the Villa, please leave the key on the tray by the front door and leave the door unlocked.

Paddle Board Information

Vanderbilt Villa offers 2 BOTE paddle boards for you and your guests to use during your stay. Each adult planning to use the paddle boards must sign a liability waiver. Ayana will provide the waiver upon check-in. Each adult must sign their own form; for minors, a legal guardian must sign on their behalf, indicating the minor’s name.

*We do not provide life jackets. Use at your own risk and you must sign our release and liability waiver.*

If no one in your party plans to use the paddle boards, Ayana will ensure they are put away for your stay.

Car Rental Information

We highly recommend renting a car and exploring the beautiful island of Exuma.

    There are a couple of options on the island groceries and spirits. This is also a service that can be added to your stay if you would like to have groceries stocked and ready for your arrival at the house.

    Boat Rental / Activity by Sea

    With your rental at the Villa there is a private dock you will have access to that holds up to a 40-foot vessel (There is no-shore power). February Point also offers a marina conveniently located to Vanderbilt Villa that houses 50-foot vessels.

    Exuma is famous for its beautiful turquoise waters that offers many memorable activities such as; Swimming with pigs, sharks, and stings rays! Enjoy wonderful snorkeling most anywhere in these waters.

    Weather permitting with smooth water:
    Take an all-day excursion to Staniel Cay (pronounced key), Compass Cay, Iguana Island, and visit Thunderball Grotto (where a James Bond movie was filmed).
    For a shorter day you can go to Long Island, Sandy Cay, see where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed and visit Cape Santa Maria.
